Hi, I'm Val! Based in Kent, I'm a keen walker and love heading up onto the North Downs to follow familiar paths, explore new ones, and take photographs of the flora and fauna I see through the changing seasons.
Using flowers, leaves and seeds to create cyanotypes keeps me in touch with the countryside that I love even when life's constraints prevent me from getting out into the fresh air. Cyanotypes absolutely fascinate me because you never quite know what result you will get. Sometimes, they fail completely and then there are the "wow moments" when you produce something absolutely beautiful. I enjoy experimenting with different techniques and have more ideas to try out than I have the time for!
